Technicon Design is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Clay Modeler to join our growing team.
What you get to do:
- Sculpt finished 3D scale and full size exterior and interior models of proposed automotive products, predominantly in clay
- Prepare and manage 3D printing of parts
- Scan models and components to provide digital data back to the digital design team
- Aid in design and engineering problem solving
- Work in a creative space while working in unison with others independently and together
- Accurately take dimensions from models and supply the team with precise measurements
- Coordinates input from internal and external customer to better understand needs and or perceptions
- Help coordinate logistics and material requirements for projects
What you bring to the team:
- Minimum of 3-5 years clay modeling experience in a professional automotive design studio
- College level education in transportation design or fine arts a plus
- Aptitude to translate 2D models to 3D sculptures
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills a must
- Ability to read line drawings, perform basic math calculations, operate shop machinery
- Ability to stand for long durations of time in addition to stooping, bending and reaching regularly and lifting up to 30lbs
- Flexible approach to meet challenging timing plans
- Willingness to travel occasionally (within the US), to support activities at other locations
Potential salary range: 90k - 160k / year depending on experience level.
