Technicon Design is hiring a Technical CAD Designer
This role supports our Accessories Project Engineering team by developing 3D CAD Models and 2D Technical drawings. You will help develop and guide the digital production of components and interfaces for an accessories portfolio, and in some cases support the coordination of prototypes w/ internal and external partners.
What you get to do
- Use Catia and GD&T skills to drive the quick development of great products.
- Collaborate with Accessory Project Engineers, Product Managers, and Vehicle Design Studio personnel to develop models, complex assemblies and drawings of our accessories with a production intent mindset.
- Conduct packaging and feasibility studies of vehicle components and accessory interface points.
- Create components and subassemblies, pull part numbers, and assign product attributes (material, mass, etc.) for assigned parts. You support the BOM.
- Leverage benchmarking software (A2MAC) and reverse engineer competitive components.
- Translate A-Class surface CAD into complete components with structure, features and hardware. This requires experience in 3D packaging and Section engineering with the design studio.
- Participate in design reviews, contribute to project updates, and present to cross-functional teams in live sessions. We share the spotlight!

What you bring to the Team
- Minimum of technical certification in CAD Design. Bachelor’s in engineering or related preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in developing 3D models, 2D technical drawings (to ISO Spec), and releasing CAD for prototype and production use.
- Proven experience in developing consumer products and/or vehicle components.
- Capability to design for multiple materials and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, injection molding, stamping, cut & weld, etc.).
- Working knowledge of ISO and ASME standards. GD&T certification a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and agility to manage design direction changes.
