Technicon Design Sweden, have a new and exciting opportunity for an Exterior Hybrid Digital Modeler to join our client's exterior department based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The contract start date May until the 31-12-24, with a possible extension.

To our Exterior Surface Design team, we are looking for a new surface design consultant. A patient and devoted concept & class A surface designer who finds the excitement and challenge in modelling complex shapes to harmonic perfection. If you are the right person, we offer you a dynamic job opportunity in our cross-carline team were the surface designers, industrial designers and studio engineers together develop the cars of the future.
Main Tasks
- Create exterior surface models in Alias, ICEMSurf, Blender and/or Maya.
- Together with Designer and Studio Engineer, take responsibility for the inclusion of the technical constraints as well as design intention in the digital model.
- Deliver surface models within the agreed time frame, adjusting the level of detail to the maturity of the design.
Requirements
- Relevant education
- Minimum 6 years’ experience of surface modelling within the automotive industry, Level 3 according to generic competencies deliver excellence in execution
- Polygon modelling skills is a bonus.
- Basic CATIA skills
- Spoken and written English
Experience
- Work independently maintaining a good dialogue with team members and project team
- Understand how the shape of a part has implications on appearance.
- Have experience in interpreting design sketches and implementing to a 3D model.
- Estimate, communicate and adjust level of detail to deliver digital models according to requests.
- Experience of modelling complete exteriors in conceptual phase.
- Basic knowledge in technical and legal constraints
