Automotive Regional Issue Manager
Location : Sweden - Contract position
About the Role
Technicon Design Sweden is seeking an experienced Project Quality & Governance Lead to support our clients complex automotive product development projects in a global environment. This role is responsible for ensuring project quality, governance compliance, issue management, and milestone delivery across international teams. The successful candidate will drive cross-functional coordination, maintain transparency in project reporting, and support the achievement of key development milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Own project quality processes and NPDS deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive milestone and gateway governance activities in collaboration with Project Leadership, including deliverable reviews and compliance monitoring.
- Act as deputy to the Project Leader when required.
- Manage execution, follow-up, and implementation tracking within project management and issue-tracking systems, including SWIM, GQMP, JIRA, and New Star.
- Compile project status metrics and prepare management presentations and progress reports.
- Prepare quality, issue, change request, and milestone status reports.
- Organize project meetings, document decisions, and ensure timely follow-up and closure of actions.
- Maintain project documentation and integrate regional activities into global and short-term project plans.
- Collect, monitor, and follow up on actions assigned during project meetings.
- Coordinate issue resolution and action tracking with cross-functional teams across multiple regions.
- Support Change Review Board (CRB) preparation, reporting, and decision-making activities.
- Review milestone readiness and project status with key stakeholders and quality teams.
- Align issue-tracking systems, project data, and quality status across international project teams.
- Report and coordinate issue management activities during vehicle testing and validation events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience working within or closely alongside product development projects.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex dependencies across multiple functions, teams, and geographical locations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to summarize complex information and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience with project governance, quality management, and issue-tracking processes.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience using JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools.
- Understanding of automotive product development processes and project governance methodologies.
Desirable Skills
- Native or fluent Mandarin language skills would be advantageous.
- Experience working within multinational and cross-cultural development environments.
- Familiarity with Change Request management and quality governance processes.
