Facility Management Lead

Are you an experienced Facility Management professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for creating efficient, high-performing workplace environments? Our client is looking for a Facility Management Lead to join their growing team and play a key role in managing and optimizing their facility portfolio.
About the Role
As part of the Facility Management Team, you will be responsible for supporting R&D and Design operations by ensuring facilities are managed effectively, contracts deliver value, and workplace environments continue to evolve to meet business needs. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, landlords, suppliers, and external partners to drive operational excellence and strategic improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Contract Management
- Manage existing and new facility-related contracts.
- Lead contract negotiations, renewals, terminations, and amendments.
- Monitor contract performance, service delivery, and costs.
- Ensure agreements provide maximum value and align with business requirements.
Landlord & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface with landlords and external stakeholders.
- Maintain oversight of lease agreements and contractual obligations.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key partners.
Facility Utilisation & Workplace Optimisation
- Monitor facility usage and occupancy trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve space efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Support the development of innovative workplace solutions that enhance employee experience.
Strategic Projects & Improvements
- Lead workplace improvement initiatives and facility development projects.
- Support office refurbishments, relocations, and workspace transformations.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Asset & Commercial Management
- Support the management and disposal of facility assets including furniture and equipment.
- Ensure assets remain fit for purpose and appropriately maintained.
- Contribute to budget planning and cost control activities.
Governance, Safety & Compliance
- Participate in office safety inspections and compliance activities.
- Support insurance portfolio management alongside brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment.
Required Experience & Qualifications
β 8-12+ years of experience within Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
β Experience working within R&D and Design environments
β Strong background in contract management and commercial negotiations
β Proven budget and cost management experience
β Experience leading projects and driving workplace improvements
β Full driving licence
