Automotive CMF Designer

Contract -Gothenburg, Sweden

As a CMF Designer, you will play a key role in developing compelling and production-ready CMF solutions across vehicle programmes, from early concept development through to market launch. Working closely with designers, engineers, suppliers, and leadership teams, you will transform strategic vision into exceptional customer experiences.

What You'll Do

• Support CMF development throughout the vehicle programme lifecycle, from concept (DSM0) to launch (J1).
• Create complete CMF proposals, including colour, material, and finish specifications.
• Develop detailed design elements such as quilting, perforation patterns, textures, and mesh designs.
• Translate CMF strategies into feasible, manufacturable, and production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, modelers, visualisation specialists, trimmers, and painters.
• Coordinate with suppliers for exterior paints, decorative materials, and soft trim solutions.
• Produce high-quality visual presentations, renders, and storytelling materials.
• Drive sustainability initiatives through material innovation and responsible design choices.
• Present CMF concepts confidently to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the CMF team.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of CMF experience, ideally within the automotive industry.
• Proven track record of delivering production-ready CMF programmes.
• Experience working within cross-functional and international teams.
• Confidence presenting design proposals to senior stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong creative vision and CMF storytelling ability.
• Excellent understanding of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to independently manage CMF development programmes.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience creating high-quality renders using VRED or Blender.
• Familiarity with Rhino and/or Blender is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Generative AI tools is a plus.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
