Technicon Design Sweden has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automotive Studio Engineer to join our client's team in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is a senior expert-level position supporting the Product Design organisation throughout all phases of the product development process, from Advanced Design through to Advanced Engineering.
The successful candidate will act as the key link between Design and Engineering, ensuring technical feasibility while preserving design intent and delivering high-quality studio engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall engineering support to the Product Design team throughout all phases of vehicle development.
Support Advanced Design and Advanced Engineering activities.
Ensure engineering and design requirements are cearly understood, challenged where necessary, and effectively communicated between Product Design and Engineering teams.
Support studio development work and maintain correct technical and geometric status for:
Physical models
Design mock-ups
Ergonomic bucks
Balance engineering requirements with design objectives using a holistic systems perspective.
Stay at the forefront of engineering trends, development processes, tooling methods, and system tools.
Ensure all Product Design deliverables meet required technical quality standards.
Contribute to project roadmaps and strategic planning in alignment with industry developments and business objectives.
Provide technical leadership and expert guidance for complex design studio engineering challenges.

The successful candidate will be recognised as a subject matter expert in Design Studio Engineering, typically gained through advanced education and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Development, Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years' experience within automotive studio engineering, design engineering, or vehicle development.
Extensive experience supporting automotive design studios and physical model development.
Strong understanding of vehicle packaging, geometry, feasibility, and manufacturing considerations.
Proven experience collaborating with both Design and Engineering functions.
Experience leading projects and influencing technical decisions at a senior level.
