Job Description

Technicon Design Sweden is looking for a Automotive Senior Interior Component Designer to join our client’s Interior Design Department in Gothenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of high-quality interior components that define the next generation of automotive user experience.

You will play a key role in creating tactile, visually refined, and production-feasible components that contribute to a cohesive, emotional, and human-centric interior environment. Working closely with design, engineering, and user experience teams, you will translate design intent into detailed, production-ready solutions, ensuring every component reflects our client’s progressive interior design DNA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interior components from concept through production readiness
  • Translate design vision and brand DNA into feasible, high-quality component solutions
  • Create clear and compelling sketches, visualizations, and 3D models to communicate design intent
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, UX, CMF, and manufacturing teams
  • Ensure components meet ergonomic, functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements
  • Support design maturation, reviews, and milestone deliveries
  • Contribute to a cohesive and emotionally engaging overall interior design
  • Stay up to date with new materials, technologies, and production methods

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
  • Experience working within an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment
  • Proven track record of delivering production-ready interior component designs
  • Strong sketching, visualization, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization tools, such as:
    • Alias
    • Blender
    • Photoshop
    • VRED
  • Solid understanding of ergonomics, materials, and automotive manufacturing processes
  • Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, cost, and feasibility
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
