Job Description
Technicon Design Sweden is looking for a Automotive Senior Interior Component Designer to join our client’s Interior Design Department in Gothenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of high-quality interior components that define the next generation of automotive user experience.
You will play a key role in creating tactile, visually refined, and production-feasible components that contribute to a cohesive, emotional, and human-centric interior environment. Working closely with design, engineering, and user experience teams, you will translate design intent into detailed, production-ready solutions, ensuring every component reflects our client’s progressive interior design DNA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop interior components from concept through production readiness
- Translate design vision and brand DNA into feasible, high-quality component solutions
- Create clear and compelling sketches, visualizations, and 3D models to communicate design intent
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, UX, CMF, and manufacturing teams
- Ensure components meet ergonomic, functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements
- Support design maturation, reviews, and milestone deliveries
- Contribute to a cohesive and emotionally engaging overall interior design
- Stay up to date with new materials, technologies, and production methods
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Experience working within an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment
- Proven track record of delivering production-ready interior component designs
- Strong sketching, visualization, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization tools, such as:
- Alias
- Blender
- Photoshop
- VRED
- Solid understanding of ergonomics, materials, and automotive manufacturing processes
- Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, cost, and feasibility
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
