Technicon Design is actively seeking experienced Electrical Systems Integration Technicians for an opportunity in the Bay Area, CA.

As an Electrical System Integration Technician, you will support Software Engineering teams by prototyping integrated testing platforms (HIL Racks, Test Benches, etc.), flashing software and troubleshooting system faults.


Responsibilities:

1. Harness Fabrication & Technical Assembly
  • Produce and retrofit wire harnesses based on 2D drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed work instructions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of electrical principles and automotive standards to ensure all builds meet industry requirements.
  • Interpret complex network and wiring schematics to guide assembly, modifications, and repairs.
2. Lab Operations & Inventory Management
  • Procure wire harness parts and materials from online vendors and manage inventory effectively to prevent project delays.
  • Maintain a well-organized lab space, ensuring all materials, tools, and equipment are properly stored and calibrated.
  • Support harness quality inspections using component or harness drawings to ensure precision and compliance.
3. Prototype Support & Field Engineering
  • Travel to various client facilities to support prototype vehicle builds, troubleshoot on-site issues, and ensure successful integration.
  • Provide accurate, detailed feedback to engineers regarding problems encountered during builds to drive continuous improvement.
  • Keep meticulous records of work performed, including updated wiring diagrams, test results, and any modifications made to the harness.
4. Software Validation & Systems Integration
  • Conduct software testing and validation to verify system performance, reliability, and hardware compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware integration issues, utilizing familiarity with Linux and shell commands.
  • Manage and track work assignments through Jira and other Atlassian tools to ensure transparency and project alignment.
Minimum requirements: 
  • 2 year degree in Automotive Technology
  • 5+ years of experience supporting electric vehicle architecture & integration development 
  • 3+ years of experience using vehicle network interface tools (Vector, Peak, Intrepid, etc)
  • 5+ year of experience in a factory setting launching new products
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience in software integration and testing, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products and vehicle prototyping  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • An eagerness to work in a fast paced cross-functional environment
