Technicon Design Germany is seeking a highly motivated Exterior Lighting – Light Simulation Specialist to join our team supporting Stellantis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next‑generation automotive lighting systems through advanced simulation, visualization, and optical analysis.
Main Responsibilities
Lighting Simulation & Analysis
- Create and compute photometric surfaces and photorealistic renderings for headlamps and tail lamps using simulation models.
- Analyse material characteristics and visual behaviour of individual lighting functions.
- Set up and validate simulation series to meet the clients requirements and specifications.
- Compare simulation outcomes with laboratory measurements and evaluate real‑to‑virtual lighting perception.
Visualization & Virtual Development
- Visualize vehicle components using modern 3D visualization tools and transfer results to VR environments.
- Support development of lighting geometries in collaboration with simulation teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Transfer validated simulation results into a driving simulator to ensure accurate light distribution during early development stages.
Performance & Quality Assurance
- Define corrective measures necessary to meet photometric target values.
- Participate in component releases by assessing performance targets within the clients development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Work independently within the cross‑functional lighting team (VSSQ, Mechatronics, SWX, Validation, Homologation, Lighting Lab, Studio).
- Collaborate with global functional departments.
- Lead technical discussions with external suppliers.
- Develop lighting concepts that balance performance, innovation, and cost efficiency.
- Present complex technical topics—including project plans—to internal stakeholders and management.
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of the clients organization and vehicle development or simulation processes.
- Experience with visualization tools such as SPEOS, Deltagen, Unreal Engine, VRED, Blender, or similar.
- Experience with optical simulation software, e.g., SPEOS, LucidShape, Zemax.
- High level of commitment, creativity, and eagerness to learn new technologies quickly.
- Self‑driven working style and ability to thrive in project‑based environments.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
- Confidence in presenting detailed technical topics clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in standard office applications.
- Business‑fluent English (written and spoken).
